Environmentally Friendly Green Electric Cars by Joey Lee

The technology for auto manufacturing has indeed evolved throughout the century. From steam powered automobiles to gasoline guzzlers to hybrid cars, the technology has been evolving. The Japanese, American, German car manufacturers have been constantly competing to offer the best car model and product to the market.

Cars of today are more superior to those of the past. The exterior designs have improved greatly in terms of aerodynamics. This you do not need to put a Ford Model T next to a Toyota Camry to see the difference.

After the extensively long years of mundane gasoline guzzling cars, the first attempt to breakthrough the boring original mold of the automobile was the electric car. Back then, the electric car was touted to be the car of the future.

Breathe that Fresh Air.
The electric cars have their fair share of problems then. Without a doubt, electric cars were wonderful concept to ensure a greener and less polluted environment. The aspirations to achieve zero toxic fumes emissions were brave and ambitious to say the least. And all well meaning expectations of the electric car were nearly crushed by the key setback, namely the inconvenience in electric recharging.

What Nearly Killed The Golden Goose.
It is so as battery life stored in the cars need to be recharged almost after usage of a short distance of around 50 miles. The electric car can only travel within this limited range of distance before requiring a recharge. This compared to that of gasoline guzzlers are minuscule by standards.

In addition, the batteries which almost always ran out of power then needed to be recharged before the electric car could run again. The recharging process requires a long time much to the inconvenience of electric car owners.

Lithium Ion Batteries Saved the Day
Battery power is the key setback that stalled the development of the electric car which puts it back onto the drawing board. Many car manufacturers are still quietly experimenting for the absolute electric car which touts zero fumes emission. The battery technology which was the key barrier is under scrutiny which gave rise to the innovative idea of using lithium ion batteries in place of the traditional NiMH.

In fact, the new breed of electric cars have recently been making splashes on the auto scene. Telsa Roadster, an full electric sports car have sold 1000 pieces and even stodgy General Motors are pitching up with the Chevy Volt concept of a electric hybrid family sedan.

Nothing is lost to the sharp eyes and minds at Auto Land. If the electric car is a brilliant environmentally friendly concept that people embrace, the folks are Auto Land will surely make that dream it come true, albeit the second time around.
